State Surplus Property

The Texas Facilities Commission disposes of salvage and surplus personal property from Texas state agencies such as DPS, TXDOT, TCEQ, and Texas Parks & Wildlife. Examples of commonly available items include vehicles, furniture, office equipment and supplies, small electronics, and heavy equipment. The public is invited to purchase the property at our retail storefront in Austin, TX, or by bidding on an online auction.

• Online Auctions: Auctions are held on an as-needed basis. Auctions feature specialty equipment (including heavy equipment and vehicles from TXDOT) and/or items located outside the Austin area. Auctions are conducted by Public Surplus.

• Retail Store in Austin: The Austin Store receives new property every day! In addition to state surplus vehicles, furniture, office equipment and supplies, and small electronics, the Austin Store also sells abandoned airport property such as pocket knives, multi-purpose tools, jewelry, sunglasses, watches, luggage, and toys. Police radios, light bars, and video equipment are available for sale to law enforcement organizations, fire departments, and volunteer fire departments only.
